DON Recent Graduates Program

You will serve as a Meteorologist or Oceanographer in the Oceanography Center, Fleet Numerical Meteorology, Global Modeling and ESPC of FLT NUMER OCEANGPHY METEO CTR.


  • You will implement, upgrade, evaluate, and maintain meteorological or oceanographic data assimilation and numerical modeling.
  • You will make adjustments in models as required to accommodate different weather situations around the world.
  • You will combine information about local topography with data from weather models and meteorological instrumentation to verify weather and ocean forecasting.
  • You will utilize computer methods of numerical weather analysis and predictions.

    • This position is eligible for part time, full time or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
    • This position may require occasional evening and/or weekend work.
