Seasonal Part Time Position Available, may lead to full time.  This position is for you to work from your HOME office.  No need to drive into our office!  That’s a plus! 

Minimal pay to start may lead to increases in pay, based on performance.  This may be a second job for you but we DO need you to work when we need you!

National Weather Forecasting, LLC is looking for an Operational Meteorologist with a love for forecasting and the ability to effectively and efficiently communicate clients. A great understanding of the atmosphere is required of the meteorologist with a thorough understanding of the weather in the region of The Catskills/Hudson Valley of NY state southward into the NYC Metro area, New Jersey, Long Island, and Eastern Pa.

Candidates will preferably live in the tri state area of our office which is at Teterboro Airport in northern N.J. but will entertain the possibility of you working from farther out from this area. Persons again with familiarity of our quad state area here should only apply.  We will train you so you know how to provide our storm warning services to our clients.


This is a seasonal position; September to April with changeable hours, some overnights and weekends is part of the requirement to work with us.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Meteorology
  • Strong understanding of weather processes and forecasting techniques
  • Ability to forecast for snow and ice, along with understanding their impacts
  • Understanding of real data is a must. (as opposed to only model data)..however, a thorough understanding of model data is also required.
  • Fluent knowledge and understanding of the METAR code and surface observations.
  • Good oral, written and personal communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and excel in a fast-paced environment which occurs of course shortly before and during storms.
