Immediate Job Position: Operational Meteorologist with excellent forecasting skills.
Part time..15-30 hours/week may lead to full time.  Position available and you can start sometime between September 1st and 30th, depending on initial phone then in-person interview. We are looking for top notch meteorologists with experience in forecasting for the NYC “quad-state area”, including the area from the Catskills and Hudson Valley of NY, CT, NJ and eastern PA. You must have extensive knowledge of synoptic meteorology and be able to make site specific forecasts for our client locations. Also, aviation weather forecasting and briefing is a PLUS but not mandatory. Computer knowledge essential.  

Hours/shifts will vary during the snow season and you will be responsible for alternating shifts, daytime, night-time, weekends and holidays. MOST of your time you will be working “normal” hours, sometime between 6AM and 3PM.

Qualifications
Must live within easy driving/commuting distance of Teterboro Airport;
Bergen County/NJ and therefore within 50 miles of our office.

  • B.S. in Meteorology or military equivalent experience is required along with sharp analytical skills with a strong understanding of Northeastern U.S. weather patterns and forecasting…(experience in compiling snowfall for specific towns in our region or will train).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task under pressure while maintaining a calm disposition
  • Experience handling customer questions/comments
  • Strong work ethic and professionalism a must
