Starting Salary: Commensurate with experience

Duties:

The candidate will contribute to the development of machine learning (ML) applications for terrestrial variables relevant to crop condition and yield assessment. The position involves developing advanced data analytics with remote sensing and ground observations of meteorological and vegetation variables.  The individual will be expected to present results in peer-reviewed publications and scientific presentations.

Qualifications:

The candidate should have experience applying convolutional neural networks methods to earth observations. Experience in remote sensing and land surface/hydrologic modeling is highly desired. The candidate should have a PhD in atmospheric science, hydrology, agro-climatology, or related discipline. Proficiency with Python language, Unix and multiprocessor environments, and understanding of MPI are highly desired. Experience in organizing meetings, project coordination, and writing and reviewing technical reports is expected.
