Job description

The University of Oklahoma is currently seeking a postdoctoral researcher for a 2 year
appointment, with the possibility of extension based on performance and available funding.

Job Description
The selected candidate will conduct original research on carbon cycle processes using observations from airborne and ground based trace gas observations, as well as measurements from space-borne sensors such as OCO-2/3, GOSAT, TROPOMI, and the future GeoCarb mission.

The focus of this position will be using satellite observations and in situ measurements together
with atmospheric chemical tracer models to constrain surface fluxes of carbon dioxide and
methane, with a key focus on using multiple space-based sensors.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess a PhD in atmospheric sciences, ecology, mathematics, statistics, or related fields, with published work relevant to the research being performed. The successful applicant will have strong programming experience in a scientific language and strong fundamentals in statistics and optimal estimation as well at least a basic understanding of the carbon cycle. Previous experience with tracer transport modeling and flux estimation is
preferred.

Interested candidates should send a CV to scrowell@ou.edu. References will be sought from candidates at a later date.
