Postdoctoral Researcher Position in Climate Science and Explainable AI

The Department of Atmospheric Science at Colorado State University invites applicants for a Postdoctoral Researcher (postdoc) position in Prof. Elizabeth Barnes’ research group. The Barnes Group is a world leader in the exploration of novel uses of data science for Earth system research and will support the successful candidate in contributing to this emerging field.

The position will be based in Fort Collins, Colorado, where the successful candidate will work with Prof. Barnes and collaborators to explore cutting-edge data science methods for interpreting, evaluating and utilizing climate model output for better understanding of the changing Earth system and its predictability across subseasonal-to-decadal (S2D) timescales. The position is funded by the DOE Program for Climate Model Diagnostics and Intercomparison (PCMDI) within the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.
