Quality & Customer Support Lead

Reports to: Director, Quality & Customer Support
Status: Exempt

Job Summary:
Radiometrics Corporation seeks a highly motivated and trustworthy individual with a passion for customer service and experience as a meteorologist or meteorological technician. This individual will act as Quality & Customer Support lead for our microwave radiometer product line. The position requires resolving hardware and software technical problems (locally and remotely); communicating effectively with global customers; managing radiometer customers and networks of radiometers; collaborating with scientists and engineers to resolve major challenges; supporting design improvements; validating instrument data quality; installing
equipment; designing and providing training courses for maintenance and meteorological applications; managing RMAs; and supporting sales efforts.

Email support is a key aspect of the job.
Domestic and international travel will, at times, be significant.

This position will report to the Director of Quality & Customer Support (QCS.)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answering radiometer customer support requests.
  • Resolving hardware and software problems.
  • Collaborating with scientists, engineers, manufacturing, accounting and other QCS Leads.
  • Managing customer accounts.
  • Managing networks of radiometers and other meteorological instruments.
  • Translating experience with users into hardware and software design recommendations.
  • Visiting customers for service, installations, site acceptance testing and training.
  • Managing and improving the radiometer repair process.
  • Supporting post-delivery sales efforts.
  • General support and improvement of the newly-formed Quality & Customer Support function.

Required Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science or Electronics Engineering Technology with 5 years of relevant meteorological industry experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational, documentation and planning skills.
  • Ability to remain professional during high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize customer needs.
  • Ability and desire to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to analyze complex meteorological data.
  • Ability to support customer needs outside of normal business hours.
  • Experience with meteorological instrumentation. (Mechanical, electrical, RF or software.)
  • Experience in cross-cultural settings.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Passion for customer service and support.

Preferred Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with atmospheric remote sensing systems.
  • Experience with software and/or hardware development.
  • Experience with providing technical training to others.
  • Experience with extended foreign business travel or expat assignment.
  • Experience in project management or program management.
  • Experience with business collaboration tools. (e.g. Apptivo.)
  • Experience with product IT and/or computer networks.
  • Proficiency in any foreign languages.
  • Passion for the meteorological industry.
  • Passion for learning and teaching others.
  • Must enjoy working in team environment, but be capable of self-direction and management.
