The Weather Channel has partnered with new mobile platform, Quibi, to provide a daily weather show for their curated news and information programming, Daily Essentials. This creates tremendous opportunity to highlight The Weather Channel’s 37 years of trusted storytelling and forecast excellence to help Quibi audience understand weather and the science behind it.

We are looking for innovative talent to support this cutting edge initiative. The show will be a 7 day-a-week 5:00 am morning program featuring forecasting, storytelling and our award winning Immersive Mixed Reality technology.

Position Summary:

The Weather Producer is responsible for producing best in class weather content for a new daily morning show for one of the network's emerging platforms. The ideal candidate will ensure that each weather story is told in an accurate and compelling manner utilizing produced and acquired visual components that are meteorologically accurate and meet (or exceed) The Weather Channel’s best in class standards and style. The Weather Producer will work closely with producers and on-camera presenters to ensure that the weather storytelling for each and every segment is captivating, well-organized, expertly prepared and includes language and striking visuals that connects most effectively with the stated target audience.


  • Conceive of and create new weather and science based stories.
  • Collaborate with producers and fellow weather producers in a manner that results in engaging, audience appealing stories.
  • Create supporting graphical content via TruVu MAX.
  • Assist in the commissioning and the development of graphical content that explains complex weather phenomena in an interesting and understandable manner.
  • Mine for and clear supportive visual content including UGC videos and imagery.
  • Produce weather segments and associated content that is well-organized, well prepared and targets a specific audience.

Education and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, design, or a related field
  • 3 years of meteorological experience to include 3 years of television or graphics building experience
  • 1 year experience using TruVu Max weather systems
