Weekend Meteorologist/Multi-Skilled Journalist

KLKN-TV, Nebraska’s Trusted News Source, has an opening for a Weekend Weather Anchor/MSJ to add to our Storm Alert Weather Team. It is not just the cost of living that is amazing here, the weather here is priceless too!

The ideal candidate has a meteorology degree or is in the process of obtaining one. You need to have on-air experience and passion for not just giving weather information but telling the weather story on-air and on all available platforms such as app, website, social media, and any new technology that evolves.

You should have a strong interest in covering severe weather, either in the studio or in the field, but also respect how inconvenient weather can disrupt lives and be able to tell that story without causing unnecessary worry for viewers.

You will also be expected to contribute to the news product, either as a producer or reporter.

You should have experience with:

  • TWC Max platform
  • Social Media, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat.
  • Familiar with a CMS, WordPress experience a plus.
  • Storm chasing
