Daniel Pollak wins first place in PSU Undergraduate Exhibit!

Dan PollakDaniel Pollak, a graduating senior, won 1st place in the physical science category at the annual Penn State Undergraduate Exhibition for his poster titled, "Understanding Changes in the Arctic Basin Sea Ice Mass Budget: Implications from Melt Season Characteristics and the Surface Albedo Feedback". He conducted this research at NCAR with Marika Holland and David Bailey this past summer.  Currently he is doing a climatology of Polar Lows in Antarctica for Geography professor Andrew Carleton.  In addition, he is a listed as a co-author on a paper by Alexandra Jahn from NCAR titled, "Late 20th century simulation of Arctic sea-ice and ocean properties in the CCSM4" which was submitted earlier this month to the Journal of Climate.
